I had a wonderful time photographing my friend Kelsey’s five day old baby last week. Kelsey did a home birth and had an amazing experience. Her little guy came in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces and 20.5 inches long. They are still trying to decide on his name so for now he is Baby Eastburn.
Kelsey’s midwife, Dr. Tiffany Dietrich, is opening the first birth center on the central coast, Santa Lucia Birth Center. They had their first birth early this morning. You can following the progress of the center on their facebook page. I’m so thrilled that I will be able to donate some of my artwork for display. The birth center will be a wonderful addition to our natural birthing community.

Baby Eastburn looks so peaceful,warm and content. These photos capture the true moment. Kelsey you look beautiful glowing like a newly mother for the second time. Baby Eastburn has some of amelia’s features. I enjoyed the pics.

Beautiful, beautiful babies! I keep telling myself that I’m not ready to be a grandmother, but after seeing these pictures, I’m not so sure! I am reluctant to share them with Jocelyn — I need to keep her focused on college!

What an amazing talent you have for capturing these most precious moments. Kelsey and her beautiful babies are perfect subjects, yes, but talent is definitely needed to take photos this amazing!! Oh man, I’ve seen this little guy in person and he is every bit as gorgeous as he looks. I may be the Grandma, but I can still be objective. Amelia is a little looker too!!!

We are so excited to announce that Kiwi Ashby Photography is now an Approved Senior Portrait Photographer for San Luis Obispo High School. What does that mean? If you are a soon to be senior at SLO High School you can now come to us for your senior portraits and we will submit your portrait to the school for inclusion in the yearbook. To have your yearbook picture submitted on time you must have your session before September 3, 2010. Space is limited so we recommend booking as soon as possible. We will of course be doing sessions throughout the school year, especially in the Spring for those that would like to have more portraits taken for their graduation announcements or to create a fusion video (images from both session will be used for your video). We are very excited to be offering fusion videos which will be available for all session types and are perfect for your senior session. Fusion videos combine stills and video set to music and also incorporate clips of you sharing more about who you are and what your plans are for the future. These videos are perfect for sharing on facebook or playing at your graduation party.
If you don’t go to San Luis Obispo High School we can still take your senior portraits. Most high schools on the Central Coast such as Atascadero High School, Templeton High School and Paso Robles High School do not require you to have your yearbook portrait taken by an approved yearbook photographer, and even if your school requires that you go to a certain photographer for your yearbook portrait you can still do a full session with us during your senior year.
We are going to be offering lots of fun new products especially for seniors! Fusion videos, metal prints, 411 cards and lots more!
